Teaser for my new book, Defenders! Coming 2017!

Kit closed her eyes and exhaled a long breath.  “Your father is a man I’ve begun to admire, Mr. Miller.  He’s a visionary, an idealist, and goodness knows, this world could use more like him.”  She opened her eyes and stared at him hard.  “But you’re a realist.  You can see that this was a mistake.  This is never going to work. I don’t fault you for it, really.  I would take the same steps in your shoes.  Probably more.  You’re Dwellers, we’re Defenders.  That’s just the way things are, and until this war is over, that’s never going to change.  We will never belong here.”

Cassandra Clare
Mortal Instruments series - I personally really enjoyed this series, but would tell you read it knowing it has a lot of sensual-type moments.  Loved every book, but was disappointed with the last one.

Jennifer Armentrout
Okay, I will admit she is one of my favorites, but her books get into too many sexually graphic scenes.  Some of hers are more moderate, just be aware that she writes both young adult and New adult, which is the graphic stuff.  The Covenant series is my favorite of hers (& have to read novellas too).  I loved The Lux series too, but she gets too graphic in those ones, especially the last one.  That was one of my very favorite series until the last one.  That kinda killed it for me, bummer.

Kailin Gow
Fade series - just don't read

Rebecca Ethington
The Imdalind series - most good, some not as much, but overall a good read.  Intense read.

Tamora Pierce
Song of the Lioness - 3

Gayle Forman
If I Stay - 4

Sophie Davis
Talented series - really liked the first one, but not the following ones

Okay, that's a good start!!! :)

Sarah M. Eden

Regency Romance Queen!  I love all of her books, which include
The Kiss of a Stranger
Friends and Foes
Drops of Gold
As You Are
For Elise
Glimmer of Hope

And I have a whole list of others on my "To Read" list.  I can't wait to read them!

If you become familiar with her books, they become a little bit predictable, but still, each one is unique in its plot and characters, and you enjoy the unfolding of the story along the way.

If you love great romance that's clean and fun and truly, intimately romantic, you'll love any of Sarah M. Eden's regency romances!!

Lorien Legacies by Pittacus Lore

Super series!  A good read if you're looking for something a little bit "different," but not way out there.  Packed with plot twists, great character development and interaction, and just enough romance to keep it interesting.  Highly recommend!

Book 1:   I Am Number Four
A great introduction into the character and plot of people from another planet called Lorien who come to earth after their planet is destroyed by Mogadorians.  There are nine survivors, plus their sepans (guards) who each have legacies - talens/skills/powers to help them survive.  They are scattered around the world with no idea of each others' location, trying to hide from the Mogs until they receive all their legacies as they grow older.  But the Mogs are killing them off, one by one, in order.  Numbers 1, 2, and 3 are already dead.  Now they're hunting Number 4 (John Smith), and he and his sepan, Henry, move to a small town called Paradise, OH.  John falls for a beautiful girl named Sarah while his legacies arrive and Henry has to train him to use these legacies to stay alive.  Because the Mogadorians are coming!

A great introduction to the series!

Book 2:  The Power of Six
Six rocks!!  She is one of the coolest female characters I've ever read!  She doesn't just act tough, she Is tough!  In this book you learn more of Number Six's past, as well as being introduced to Number Eight, Marina, and Number Nine.  I love how Pittacus Lore shows the history of each of his characters, and then it's so fun when he finally brings them together.

In this book you learn more about John's best friend, Sam (a human searching for his missing father, whom he believes was abducted by Mogs) and the strength of their friendship as they search for answers together.

This was my second fav. in the series so far.

Book 3:  The Rise of Nine
Here the characters split up a little more.  John and Nine, two unlikely friends, team up, and I love their relationship.  I love their fights and the dialogue between them.  Six, Marina, and Ella (a surprising Number Ten that no one knew about) go off in search of Number Eight, who has some very helpful legacies that are uber-cool.  This was my favorite in the series by far!  He brings the characters together to have to work together, come to know and accept each other, including weaknesses and differences of opinion, and they fight together for the first time, which is an intense battle!  Awesome, awesome book!

Book 4:  The Fall of Five
Ehhhh, not my favorite.  Certainly not a bad book, but definitely a let-down after book three.  Nothing happens!  At least, not until the end, and then it's suddenly packed with intensity.  But it's kinda slow-going and frustrating 'til the end.  You see things that you think the characters would pick up on, and it's frustrating that they don't.  A sad, discouraging ending, but also necessary too.  If you don't show them at their worst, then their victory won't be as sweet.  (I'm assuming the victory is coming in the next book?!)  Still good, just not as good as the others.  Good build-up for the next book though, which is now out, called The Revenge of Seven!  Can't wait to read it!
