Kit closed her eyes and exhaled a long breath.  “Your father is a man I’ve begun to admire, Mr. Miller.  He’s a visionary, an idealist, and goodness knows, this world could use more like him.”  She opened her eyes and stared at him hard.  “But you’re a realist.  You can see that this was a mistake.  This is never going to work. I don’t fault you for it, really.  I would take the same steps in your shoes.  Probably more.  You’re Dwellers, we’re Defenders.  That’s just the way things are, and until this war is over, that’s never going to change.  We will never belong here.”
